Rae wears a lot of hats: novelist, poet, playwright, mom to a child with support needs, homeschool mom, former foster parent, actress, director, theatre educator, and goth chick disguised as a suburban housewife. In addition to drafting her third novel, she just completed a mentorship with Jodi Zdrok through the Rogue Mentor program with her manuscript, Revenant. In 2021, she had two short stories published in A Memphis Writers Junt’s anthology, Malfunction Junction, winner of the 2023 Memphis Public Library’s Richard Wright Literary Award for Best Adult Fiction. She also had a poem published in 4 Horsemen Publications’ anthology, Teen Angst Mix Tape Vol. 1. She received Honorable Mention in the Malice in Memphis Hit Me With Your Best Shot Contest in 2018. Rae loves video games (sucker for Final Fantasy), blues music, and Mediterranean food. Some of her favorite authors/poets include Neil Gaiman, Carl Dennis, Taylor Mali, Jeff VanderMeer, Diana Gabaldon, Brandon Sanderson, Leigh Bardugo, Tamsyn Muir, Andy Weir, and Maggie Stiefvater. She writes every spare moment she can steal, which is mostly at night when the kids are asleep. She is always sleep deprived.
